Tour itinerary:
Day 01: Malang or Surabaya to Hotel in Ijen Crater
Start from airport, train’s station or hotel in Malang or Surabaya (please let us know where we have to meet you), our staff will meet you then escort you to the small town of Bondowoso or Banyuwangi regency which is Ijen Crater located. The journey takes approximately 8-9 hours driving by private car with air conditioned with possible stops en route for having lunch at local restaurant on the way. On this trip, you will pass rural landscape, small city, plantations, rainforest & beaches. Upon your arrival in Ijen Crater area, you will stay overnight at Hotel before you enjoy Ijen Crater Trekking on the next morning.
Day 02: Ijen Crater Tours – visiting Mount Bromo & Sunset Tours at Mentigen Hill
About at 04:30 in the morning, our 4WD vehicle (jeep) will bring us to the village of Licin and then continue to the slope of Mount Ijen, passing through plantations and rainforest. This is one of the few remaining on the Island of Java with giant ferns, plants & big trees, this journey takes approximately 1 hour from the hotel by private car. Arrive at the parking area of Mount Ijen, approximately 1 until 1.5 hours will be required to ascend slope of mount Ijen to reach peak of Ijen Crater and along the path, you will enjoy the stunning natural scenery with fresh air & shady.
Resting on the edge of the crater at an altitude of 2883 meters and enjoy best panorama of the lake of sulfate where reflects spectacular view in the surrounding walls to give the impression like doom. The sulfur mining workers go down into the crater and climb back up by passing dangerous path on the edge of Ijen Crater with the load as much as 80 kilograms on their shoulders. This is really a dangerous & hard job. Here also, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery in the crater of Ijen as one of God’s amazing creation.
Do not forget to take pictures in this area as a proof that you have visited one of the most amazing places on earth. After enjoyed the natural scenery at Crater of Ijen and then you will descend the slope of Mount Ijen until vehicles parking area where our vehicle is waiting to escort you to continue our trip directly to reach Mt Bromo for about 5-6 hours driving by a private car.
Upon arrival in Mt Bromo area, we will use jeep to bring us to continue our tour to reach the parking area which is located on the bottom of Mt. Bromo by passing the amazing view, such as: sea of sand which is bordered by Mountains in Tengger area, then from parking area for the jeep, you are required to cross seas sand of Mt. Bromo by horse riding or on foot (it is optional) till reach the starting point to trek up of Mt Bromo by following more than 250 stairs which it will lead you to reach peak of Mt Bromo.
After enjoy nice view in Mt. Bromo, we will drive back to the Hotel in Bromo for check-in process and wait for sunset time. Around in the late afternoon (around at 16:40 pm), we will escort you to the Mentigen Hill to enjoy sunset time in Bromo area and afterward, we will escort you back to the Hotel for overnight stay
Optional program for Blue Fire Ijen Tours : If the weather is good enough, you will have a chance to see blue fire & sunrise at Ijen Crater but you are required to leave from the hotel around at 12:00pm (midnight) and there will be extra cost for mining worker who will lead us to see blue fire at Ijen Crater (you can pay him on the site). Day 03: Bromo Hotel & drive to Malang or Surabaya
Wake up in the morning for taking bath, having breakfast & packing the luggage and then leave from Hotel in Bromo to continue our trip to reach to Malang or Surabaya for about 3 - 4 hours driving by a private car as your last destination for your trip with us. Tour package finished
Optional program for Bromo Milky Way Tours: If the weather is good enough, you will have a chance to do optional tour program for Milky Way Tours in Bromo area. This trip will be begun at midnight time from your hotel in Bromo (around at 1:30 or 02:00 am) and we will use 4WD vehicle or jeep to reach the place which is best point to see Milky Way in Mount Bromo area. If you are interested to do this trip, you are required to inform us in advance & there will be extra cost to do this optional tour program as attached
Optional program for Sunrise & Bromo Tours: If the weather is good enough, you will have a chance to do optional program for Sunrise & Bromo Tours by jeep or 4 WD vehicles. This trip will be begun after you enjoy Bromo Milky Way Tours as mentioned above or you can start for this optional program around at 03:00 or 03:30 am (at dawn time) and finish around at 07:30 am and then, we will drive back to Hotel for having breakfast and packing the luggage before we continue our trip to Surabaya or Malang for about 3 – 4 hours driving by a private car
The sunrise tours will be done at Kingkong Hill or Mount Pananjakan. These places are known as one of the best view points to enjoy sunrise in Bromo area, which is located on the rim of the Tengger caldera. If it is not foggy, the sunlight when the sunrise will play light shadow which it come up from the sidelines of the mountains and it will give impression like unforgettable thing on your mind & heart, as one of amazing creations of the God on our earth.
Afterward, the jeep will bring us to continue our tour to reach the parking area which is located on the bottom of Mt. Bromo by passing the amazing view, such as: sea of sand which is bordered by Mountains in Tengger area, then from jeep's parking area, you are required to cross seas of sand by horse riding or on foot (it is optional) till reach the starting point to trek up of Mt Bromo by following more than 250 stairs which will lead you to reach peak of Mt Bromo. After a short break & take pictures, we will go to hotel for taking a bath, having breakfast and packing the luggage before we continue our trip back to Surabaya or Malang, for about 3 – 4 hours driving by a private car
