Itinerary of tour package
Day 01: Pangkalan Bun Airport – Kumai Port – Klotok Houseboat Trip (L, D)
Upon your arrival in Pangkalan Bun Airport, our staff will fetch you by your name on placard and then take you to Port of Kumai’s River by a car for 20 minutes. Afterward, you will board on the traditional boat to proceed for your trip which it will reach National Park of Tanjung Puting area after approx for 2 hours. As we travel upriver, we will watch for proboscis monkeys (endemic to Borneo), macaques, gibbons, and other wildlife.
This boat is river boat with an engine and it is made from iron wood which is specialist boat for tourism industry. The boat is made with 12m (length) and 2,5m (width) with a roof on upper deck where you will view the natural environment of the rainforest. The local people call it by KLOTOK. We will explore the river by Klotok with slowly to observe wild animals and the natural environment along the river side. There are Proboscis monkeys, Macaques, many species of birds and other wild animals which will greet you in the middle of Borneo rain forest. The boat’s facilities are a simple cabin with mattress, pillow, blanket, meals, mineral water, mosquito net, kitchen and simple bath room with shower and toilet with western style. The boat crew will provide you a cup of tea or coffee with local foods and prepare your bed with mosquito netting. If there is not a full moon or rain, we may be able to spot fireflies at night time. On this day, you can choose to overnight stay and having foods on Boat to get a cheapest price for this trip or at lodge which is more comfortable for your accommodation
Day 02: Klotok Houseboat Trip to the feeding station in Camp Leakey (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we will travel up the river with a private boat or KLOTOK to see Orangutan feeding time in Camp Leakey feeding station and orangutan education center at 14:00. Before we arrive in The Camp Leakey, you can observe river ecology and enjoy your lunch on the boat while you see kind of wild animal on the river side (Proboscis monkeys, Bird, Sun Bear, Kind of Macaque and Wild Orangutan). You can also enjoy sunset time with view natural of the rain forest as long as river side, when on your way back. Take Dinner and overnight stay at Lodge or on Boat
Day 03: Trip to the feeding station in Pondok Tanggui and Camp Leakey (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we will travel up the river for 2 hours boating to reach to The Camp Leaky, where the orang-utans older will be reintroduced into the rain forest. Before we arrive at the Camp Leakey, we will stop at Pondok Tanggui to see feeding time at 09:00. After lunch on the Boat, you will have an opportunity to do a short trekking before we will see the feeding's time for orangutans in the Camp Leaky area at 14:00 and then, you will have free time to enjoy the river safari when you are on way back to parking area for boat. On this day, you will overnight stay on the boat or at eco lodge
Day 04: Pondok Tanggui – Pesalat - Tanjung Harapan – Klotok Houseboat Trip (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we will travel up the river by Boat or Klotok to observe river ecology and see wild life as long as river side and then stop in Pondok Tanggui Feeding station to learn about Orangutan habitat and see the rangers feed them at 09:00 am. After you enjoy natural view in this area then proceed to Pesalat reforest station to look reforest daily activities and learn about the famous of ‘iron wood’. In an effort to preserve ecosystem which disappears rapidly, we will take a short trek to the camp (short jungle trekking), where the ranger will welcome us and explain about the area. We will have the opportunity to participate in the re-planting and make a donation to the trees here. The ranger will explain about the seedlings are best for replanting, reforestation and what plants are most useful for the orangutans and other wildlife.
After you participated in the re-planting activities, we will trek back to the boat for having lunch on boat and enjoy wild animal activities as long as river side. Take your free time on Boat for few hours then continue to Tanjung Harapan feeding Station at 15:00. When we arrive at Tajung Harapan, we will walk through the screw pine and bog forest, and your guide will explain about Tanjung Harapan. We will enjoy the orangutan feeding station until 16:20 pm, and then return to the klotok, where the cook will serve an afternoon snack with coffee or tea. After enjoy activities in Camp Tanjung Harapan, we will proceed to Traditional Village of Tanjung Harapan for short trekking to see pure villager activities. As we travel upriver, we will watch for proboscis monkeys (endemic to Borneo), macaques, gibbons, and other wildlife.
Enjoy natural river view on the way back. Take Dinner and overnight stay on Boat or at Lodge. (If weather is good you can enjoy Fireflies tours and river safari with candle light dinner on Boat). On this day, you can choose to take meals and stay overnight on Boat to get a cheapest price for your trip or at lodge for more comfortable accommodation
Day 05: Tanjung Puting National Park – Kumai Port – Pangkalan Bun Airport (B)
After breakfast, we will transfer you to reach to the river port in Kumai by Klotok and it will need for about 2 hours, and then we will drive to Pangkalan Bun airport for about 30 minutes to catch your flight leaving for next destination. TOUR SERVICES FINISHED

This houseboat is made from iron wooden and it is as river's transportation which is used always for tourist to explore the river in National Park area. The boat is made with length 10 meters and width 3 meters. The local people called it by "KLOTOK". There are facilities of overnight stay for tourists, such as: a toilet with western style, clean mattress with curtain, the charger of electrical, etc. The otherside, you can enjoy natural views of the rainforest, and especially in the morning you will feel the natural greeting from any kind of bird and other wild animals such as Macaques, Proboscis monkeys and orang-utans while you enjoy breakfast and coffee or tea which will be prepared with Indonesian food and seasonal fruits by our chef boat
