Night trip from Bali Island to Ijen Crater in Banyuwangi, East Java via Bali strait by a ferry to reach Ketapang Ferry Port to enjoy Blue Fire Ijen Tours and then finish in Banyuwangi
Around at 20:00 PM, our staff will pick you up from your hotel in Bali (Kuta, Seminyak, Jimbaran, Sanur, Nusadua, Ubud or Lovina area) then take you for about 3 – 4 hours driving by private car with AC to reach the Gilimanuk Ferry Port which is located in the most western tip of Bali Island
Upon arrival time in Gilimanuk ferry port, we will proceed to take a ferry for crossing Bali strait for and it will take about 1 – 1.5 hours to reach The Ketapang ferry port in Banyuwangi which is located in the most eastern tip of Java Island. We hope to arrive in Ketapang ferry port around at 01:00 am (midnight in Bali time) or at 24:00PM (midnight in Java time), and we will continue our trip for about 1 – 1.5 hours driving to reach parking area in Ijen Crater which is well known as post 1 Paltuding or as starting point for Ijen Crater Trekking
From this place, we will re-check the trekking equipment, such as: torch or flashlight & gas mask. If you do not have gas mask, you can rent it to local people or mining worker who will be ready in the parking area of Ijen Crater. Do not forget to keep well your stamina, and we will pray before for starting to do an climbing Mount Ijen Crater. The climbing to Ijen Crater will need for about 1.5 – 2.5 hours (it is depend on your stamina) to reach peak of Mount Ijen. If the weather is good enough, you may see the Milky Way on the top of Mount Ijen but you are required o use your Smartphone apps
From the top of Mount Ijen, you will be accompanied by our staff & sulfur mining worker who are expert with the paths on the Ijen Crater to descend to reach to the Crater area where the mining worker looking for chunk of sulfur which comes from sulfur liquid that flows through a special pipe which are prepared by them before. The other side, the crater area will display the main attraction for the visitors and it is popular and well known as blue fire or blue flame
The blue fire in Ijen Crater is ignited by natural of sulphuric gas, which emerges from cracks at temperatures up to 600 degrees Celsius (1,112 degrees Fahrenheit) and the flames can be up to 5 meters (16 feet) high; some of the gas condenses to liquid and is still ignited. It is the largest blue flame area in the world and local people refer to it as Blue Fire.
After enjoy spectacular view of Blue Fire in Ijen Crater, we will ascend back to the top of Ijen Crater to see Sunrise and afterward, you will see also green lake of sulfur and daily activities of mining worker in Ijen Crater with natural backgrounds surrounding.
Resting on the edge of the crater at an altitude of 2883 meters and enjoy best panorama of the lake of sulfate where reflects spectacular view in the surrounding walls to give the impression like unforgettable thing. The sulfur mining workers go down into the crater and climb back up by passing dangerous path on the edge of Ijen Crater with the load as much as 80 kilograms on their shoulders. This is really a dangerous & hard job. Here also, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery in the crater of Ijen as one of God’s amazing creation. Do not forget to take pictures in this area as a proof that you have visited one of the most amazing places on earth.
After enjoyed the natural scenery at Crater of Ijen and then you will descend the slope of Mount Ijen until vehicles parking area where our vehicle is waiting to escort you out directly either to Train’s Station, Bus Station, Ferry Port or airport in Banyuwangi and Bali to Blue Fire Ijen Tours – Bayuwangi has finished
